Day 1: Welcome to Lima and First Encounter in Barranco

Your exciting journey through Peru begins at Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) in Lima. Upon arrival, your private transfer will be waiting to welcome you and take you directly to your hotel in the charming neighborhood of Barranco.

At 6:00 PM, you’ll have your first meeting with your tour leader. This is a key moment, as this person will be your travel companion and guide throughout your entire experience in Peru. For us, building a strong first connection is essential!

After this initial encounter, you’ll have the option to enjoy a welcome dinner, a perfect opportunity to celebrate the start of your adventure and indulge in Peruvian cuisine.

Finally, if you wish, you can take a short walk through the picturesque streets of Barranco, soaking in its bohemian atmosphere and admiring its beautiful street art and murals.

Day 2: Cultural Immersion in Lima and Callao

Get ready for a day full of contrasts and authentic experiences.

We’ll begin the day by using the Metropolitano, Lima’s public transportation system. This ride will give us a genuine glimpse into local life, a unique and truly Limeño experience. Our first stop will be Lima’s Historic Center, where we’ll explore its impressive plazas and colonial architecture.

Next, we’ll take a short walk to Chinatown, a vibrant district that showcases the fascinating fusion between Peruvian and Chinese cultures. For lunch, we’ll head to a chifa, a restaurant that perfectly embodies this delicious culinary blend. It’s a great opportunity to taste this unique fusion cuisine!

In the afternoon, the adventure continues in Monumental Callao. Once known for its dangerous reputation, this area has been transformed by younger generations into a hub of urban culture, street art, and vibrant graffiti murals. It’s a lively space where salsa music echoes through the streets, creating a unique and unforgettable atmosphere.

Day 3: Marine Safari, Vineyards, and an Adrenaline Rush with Sandboarding and Buggies The Peruvian Desert Awaits.

Today promises an exciting day trip outside of Lima, exploring the coastal and desert landscapes of southern Peru. Get ready for a long and action-packed day!

We’ll depart very early from Lima, heading to the bus station where we’ll board transportation to Paracas.

Our first big adventure will be a visit to the Ballestas Islands. We’ll board a speedboat to cruise around these spectacular islands, home to incredible marine life including sea lions, guano birds, and Humboldt penguins. It’s a natural spectacle you won’t want to miss!

After our Paracas experience, we’ll continue to Ica, where we’ll dive into the world of vineyards. Here, we’ll learn about the production of pisco and wine, and there will likely be a chance to enjoy a tasting.

Following the vineyard visit, we’ll stop for lunch to recharge our energy.

In the afternoon, we’ll head to the famous Huacachina Oasis, a picturesque desert haven surrounded by towering sand dunes. You'll have some time to explore this scenic spot.

Then, it’s time for adrenaline: our dune buggy and sandboarding tour! We’ll ride across the dunes in thrilling off-road vehicles and have the chance to slide down the sand slopes. It’ll be the perfect moment to catch a spectacular desert sunset.

After this unforgettable day of diverse landscapes and emotions, we’ll begin our return journey to Lima.

Day 4: Landing in the Land of the Incas. Your Free Day to Connect with Cusco

Early in the morning in Lima, we’ll head to the airport to catch our flight to the historic city of Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. Upon landing in the Andean highlands, we’ll take a moment to acclimatize before embarking on a short walking orientation. This introductory stroll will help us get familiar with the charm of Cusco’s historic center, its cobbled streets, vibrant plazas, and the striking architecture that blends Incan foundations with colonial influence.

After this first immersion, the rest of the day is yours to explore Cusco at your own pace. Your tour leader will be happy to offer personalized tips and suggestions to help you make the most of your free time. You might choose to get lost in the maze of alleyways, visit colorful artisan markets, marvel at the grandeur of the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, or perhaps venture into hidden gems like the artsy San Blas neighborhood and its many workshops.

This day is yours to absorb Cusco’s unique energy and prepare for the wonders that await in the days ahead in this fascinating region.

Day 5: Weaving Bonds and Shaping Dreams with Andean Communities

Today, after a nourishing breakfast in Cusco, we will embark on a journey that goes beyond conventional tourism, one that immerses us in the authenticity of Andean communities with deeply rooted ancestral traditions.

Our first stop is Ccacacollo, a vibrant Andean village led and organized by entrepreneurial women. They will welcome us with open arms and proudly share their collective work in ancestral textile art, passed down through generations. We’ll witness their incredible skill in transforming natural fibers into beautiful creations, a tradition that not only preserves cultural identity but also drives the development and wellbeing of their community.

We’ll then continue to Cuyo Chico, where we’ll take part in an ancient ceramic-making experience alongside local artisans. As we mold our own clay pieces, we’ll connect directly with a craft rich in cultural meaning and symbolic of the Andean worldview.

After sharing a lunch full of authentic flavors, we’ll be awed by the unique landscape of the Maras Salt Mines, where artisanal salt extraction continues to support local families and preserve ancestral practices.

Finally, we’ll explore the enigmatic agricultural terraces of Moray, a living testament to the Incas' agricultural wisdom and their deep connection to the land.

At the end of this enriching day, we’ll spend the night in Ollantaytambo, recharging for the journey ahead.

Day 6: The Majesty of Machu Picchu

This long-awaited day begins early with a scenic train ride from Ollantaytambo. We’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Andean landscape as we make our way to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu.

Once in Aguas Calientes, we’ll board buses that will take us up the mountain to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. There, an expert guide will lead us through a guided tour, unveiling the secrets and rich history of this Wonder of the World. You’ll have time to marvel at the architecture, engineering, and mysticism that surround this sacred place.

After our unforgettable experience at the summit, we’ll descend by bus back to Aguas Calientes, where we’ll share a comforting lunch before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo station. From there, a bus will be waiting to transfer us back to Cusco.

Day 7: Tailor-Made Andean Adventures: Rainbow Mountain or a Relaxed Exploration.

The morning in Cusco offers two different paths to explore the majesty of the Andes. For hiking enthusiasts and lovers of high-altitude landscapes, we offer an optional excursion to the spectacular Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). This natural wonder, with its vibrant multicolored stripes, rewards the effort with unforgettable panoramic views and a profound connection with the Andean environment.

For those who prefer a more relaxed day or activities that require less physical effort, our team will be happy to provide a variety of options. You can enjoy a leisurely walk through Cusco’s charming neighborhoods, visit fascinating museums that delve into local history and culture, explore colorful artisan markets, or perhaps take part in a Peruvian art or cooking workshop.

This day is designed for each traveler to choose the adventure that best fits their interests and energy level, while soaking in the cultural and natural richness that Cusco has to offer.

Day 8: Awakening the Senses in the Heart of Tambopata: First Jungle Encounter.

From the Andean heights of Cusco, our flight transports us to the vibrant heart of the Amazon: Puerto Maldonado. Upon landing, we’ll be greeted by the warm humidity and unfamiliar aromas, along with the warm welcome of our local guides, true guardians of this rich ecosystem.

After a brief stop, we’ll board a bus heading to the port that opens the gateway to the Tambopata River.

As we embark, the city’s bustle fades behind us, replaced by the soft murmur of the river and distant jungle sounds. This boat ride becomes our first intimate encounter with the green world, where lush vegetation embraces us, and wildlife begins to reveal itself in flashes of color and movement. Curious monkeys may peer from the treetops, exotic birds might soar above us, and the promise of many more wonders will accompany us on our journey to the lodge, our home in this Amazonian paradise.

Upon arrival, we’ll be immersed in nature, invited to breathe deeply the vital energy of the rainforest. After settling in, and as night falls, our adventure continues with a guided night walk. Led by mysterious sounds and dancing shadows, our senses will heighten to perceive the life that awakens under the cover of darkness. It will be a magical first contact, a sensory immersion that connects us with the untamed soul of Tambopata.

Day 9: Deep Exploration in the Heart of Tambopata Jungle Secrets and Night Encounters.

After waking to the sounds of the jungle and enjoying a breakfast rich in local flavors at the lodge, we will venture on foot into the heart of Tambopata. This hike will be a deep immersion into wildlife, where our senses will sharpen to detect the movements and sounds of the surrounding fauna. Our local guide, with ancestral knowledge, will unveil the secrets of medicinal plants generously offered by the forest, teaching us about their healing properties and their importance to local communities. If the jungle favors us, we may have the thrilling chance to spot anacondas in their natural habitat, as well as various monkey species leaping through the treetops.

Later, we’ll take a short bus ride to a hidden lagoon, a mirror-like body of water where the adventure continues with piranha spotting and birdwatching along its lush shores. With a bit of luck, we might even try our hand at fishing for these famed creatures. As the afternoon fades, we’ll return to the comfort of our lodge, carrying with us the sights and sounds of a deeply immersive day of exploration.

The night will invite us to a new adventure: we’ll sail through the dark waters of the Tambopata River in search of the mighty black caimans, whose glowing eyes will reflect our flashlights in the darkness. This nocturnal boat ride will offer a different perspective on jungle life, revealing the mysteries of the creatures that emerge under the moonlight, thus completing a day of profound connection with the wild nature of Tambopata.
